Type of Glass

Much like the frameless showers, the framed shower doors use tempered glass. This adds to safety as well as for easy cleaning. Since the shower is framed, you do not need to have a thicker glass (3/8” or 1⁄2”), but can use thinner glass (1/4” or 3/16”) since the frame is supporting the door. – When dealing with anything aluminum, you have the possibility of it corroding. Some may find
that framed showers are outdated.
– It may be harder to keep the glass clean having to work around the frame.
– Lastly, you always have to worry about the shattering when it comes to the framed showers
because the glass is thinner than frameless showers. This is where the tempered glass comes

When it comes to actually installing the framed shower, you are looking at a fairly easy install since the
glass is not as thick as a frameless shower. The frame itself makes it easier to install instead of the use of
clips or hinges. Normally the whole process of installing a framed shower is about 3 to 4 hours.
